Chartered status – which in 2008 we were among the first financial planning businesses to gain – means we are committed to constantly improving our skills and expertise, ensuring that the service our clients experience gets better and better all the time.

The CII (the body which awards Chartered status) reviews and re-certifies us annually. They apply stringent guidelines to service, our people’s continual professional development, and the depth of our market knowledge. Our Chartered status is your assurance that complacency will never set in and that you and your investments will be looked after as carefully in five years’ time as they will be when we begin working together. The advice you receive will be of the highest quality and the planner providing it will know the market inside and out.

Our clients can also have confidence in our planners. They have an average of 24 years of experience, have been through economic ups and downs, and they know how to respond to both.

Our Chartered Status

What did we have to to to achieve it?

Achieving Chartered status is a rigorous process. We met our obligations in a number of ways:

  • A commitment to the technical and professional develoment of staff, such as professional qualifications
  • All staff members who deal with customers belong to the industry’s professional body the Personal Finance Society (PFS), the dedicated financial planning arm of the CII Group, and adhere to its Code of Ethics which is enforced through disciplinary sanctions
  • We adhere to the PFS’s continuing professional development requirements, ensuring our staff keep their knowledge and skill set up-to-date

The Chartered Financial Planning qualification was introduced in August 2005. I achieved Chartered status a year later and I am assessed for this on an annual basis. For my clients, this is their reassurance that I am well-qualified, adhere to a strict code of conduct and that my knowledge is continuously updated to take into account the many changes in legislation, taxation and the latest planning strategies so that I am best placed to advise them.
